You’re NOT Too Old. I Promise.

May 20, 2025

Let’s talk about this whole “I’m too old” thing we keep telling ourselves.

Because I’ve caught myself saying it. Not out loud always, but in my head. When I see someone doing something bold or starting something new, I’ll think, “Ugh, I wish I could do that but I’m too old now,” or “I’ve got kids—my life’s not set up for that anymore.”

Like… what? When did we decide there was a deadline on living?

It’s so easy to fall into that trap—especially after becoming a mom. Life shifts. Your routine becomes about naps and snacks and laundry piles. You barely recognize your own reflection some days. It’s easy to start thinking the best parts of you are in the rearview mirror.

But here’s the thing I’m slowly realizing: being a mom doesn’t mean the end of anything. If anything, it can be the beginning of everything.

Yes, you might be exhausted. Yes, your priorities have changed. And yes, the version of you from five years ago might not even recognize the you standing here now… but you are NOT too old. Not too old to start a blog. Not too old to travel. Not too old to dress how you want, dream how you want, or pivot your whole damn life if you feel like it.

I think we hear the word “mom” and suddenly feel like we’re supposed to shrink. Like we’re supposed to tone things down, be less loud, less ambitious, less visible.

But I’m calling BS.

Because moms are some of the strongest, most creative, most resilient people I know. We’ve been through it. Sleepless nights. Mental breakdowns in Target parking lots. The constant pressure to keep it together for everyone else. And somehow we still show up. We still smile. We still do the work.

So no—you’re not too old. You’re not “too late.” You didn’t miss your shot.

And if anyone makes you feel like you did? They’re not your people.

The truth is, there is no deadline for figuring yourself out. There is no expiration date on your goals or your growth. If anything, this version of you—the mom who’s wiser, stronger, more grounded in who she is—is more ready than ever to take that leap.

So whether it’s finally starting that side hustle, planning that trip, wearing that outfit, or just doing something you’ve always wanted to do but kept putting off…

This is your reminder: you still can.

And no, you’re not too old. You’re just getting started.
