Why I Believe in Manifestation Now (Even Though I Had No Clue What It Meant Before)

So, I think in the last five or six years, I’ve really started to understand what manifesting actually means. Before that? I had zero clue. I seriously thought it was just some historical or biblical word people threw around in old books. I didn’t know anything about it. I was just dumb about that word and everything it stood for. It wasn’t part of my vocabulary, and it definitely wasn’t something I thought applied to me or my life.
But now that I’m getting older.. a little wiser.. a little more grounded.. I feel like I’m actually starting to hone in on my manifesting. Like, I’m finally grasping how powerful our thoughts and energy really are. I’m learning that what you believe can become real.. not overnight, not magically, but through belief, through intention, through doing.
And I really, really want things to happen for me. I do. I want things that maybe sound crazy or too big or too far-fetched, but I don’t care anymore. I want to get into the entertainment industry. I want this blog to blow up. I want people.. real people.. to actually read what I write. Not just scroll. Not just skim. I want them to feel something. To read my honest opinions and experiences, especially when it comes to motherhood, and feel like, “Damn, someone gets it.” I want to be seen for who I am and what I’ve lived through.. not just as a mom, but as a woman, a creative, a person with big-ass dreams.
And I genuinely, honestly believe that dreams do come true.
Like my dream of going to the Met Gala. I know, I know.. it probably sounds wild, borderline delusional. It probably won’t happen. But guess what? I’m still going to try. I’m still going to dream about it. I’m still going to act like it could. Because why not? Why can’t I go to the Met Gala? Why shouldn’t I believe that it’s possible for me?
It’s always the same thing.. people telling you you’re dreaming too big. That it’s not real. That you need to be more “practical.” That only celebrities or influencers with millions of followers get invited to things like that. That it’s “one in a million.”
And yeah, maybe it is. But what I’ve realized is.. that “one in a million” could still be me. The only reason most people don’t become the one is because they stop believing it’s even a possibility. They let other people.. people who don’t even know their heart.. get inside their head. They get talked down, talked out of it, and they give up before they even try.
That’s what kills dreams. That’s what stops people.
But if you can block that noise out.. and I mean really block it out.. and just keep going anyway, you’d be surprised how far you get.
I’ve seen it happen. I’ve watched people go after things that everyone told them were “unrealistic,” and now they’re thriving. They’re living their passion. And it’s not because they had some crazy advantage.. it’s because they didn’t quit. They didn’t give in to the doubt.
And I refuse to quit either.
When I was younger, I wanted to be a photographer. Like really wanted it. From the age of 18 all the way through my late 20s, it was the dream. I was obsessed with it. But I was constantly told I shouldn’t pursue it. That it wasn’t “smart” or “worth it.” I remember going to this fancy photography school orientation once.. I was so excited.. and yeah, it was super expensive. So I understood why it didn’t make sense financially. But what crushed me more than the cost was hearing people say, “You’re not going to make it,” or “That’s a dumb career path.”
Looking back, that still pisses me off. Because who gets to decide what’s “dumb”? People want to act. People want to dance. People want to be writers or designers or painters or chefs.. and some of them go for it, and they actually make it. So why can’t I?
Now, I feel like I’m finally leaning into the talents I know I have. I’m funny. I make people laugh. I love to write.. I always have. And people tell me I’m good at it. Like, really good. I love putting feelings into words. I love telling stories. I love being honest.. raw, real, no filter. I feel like I’ve lived enough life, gone through enough shit, and grown through enough seasons that I actually have something to say. Something to give. Something to share.
And if even one mom out there reads my words and feels a little more seen, a little less alone, a little more understood.. then that’s everything. That’s why I’m doing this.
So yeah, back to manifesting.
I believe in it now because I’ve lived long enough to see what happens when you don’t. When you doubt yourself. When you settle. When you let the outside world tell you who you’re supposed to be instead of tuning into who you actually are.
I’m done with that. I’m done letting people’s opinions shape my choices. I’m done playing small. I’ve got dreams. Big ones. And I’m not apologizing for them anymore. I’m not watering them down. I’m not laughing them off before someone else can.
I’m going after what I want now. Full stop.
It’s not about being delusional. It’s about believing in something before it exists.. and then doing whatever it takes to bring it to life. It’s about keeping your faith alive even when you have no evidence yet. It’s about pushing forward even when nobody’s clapping for you.
Because if I don’t believe in my own dreams, who will?
