Stop With The Premature Judgment

I’ve been on the receiving end of hate.. and not the constructive kind. I’m talking about that quiet, sneaky kind of judgment that comes from people who don’t know the first thing about me. They look, they assume, and that’s it. I’ve been labeled without a single conversation, and it’s honestly… so unnecessary.

Years ago, in college, it happened a lot. I was quiet. I wore glasses. I kept to myself. And that was all it took for people to box me in. Introverted? Must be boring. Glasses? Must be a nerd. Reserved? Oh, she must think she’s better than everyone. I couldn’t believe how quickly people jumped to conclusions without giving me a chance.

Here’s the thing.. hating on someone you don’t know is a really awful thing to do. It doesn’t make you look good. It just shows how quick you are to judge without understanding. And I’ve learned that usually, people who project that kind of hate are hurting in some way themselves. But still, that doesn’t make it okay.

Everyone has a story. Everyone is going through something. And honestly? We could all use a little more kindness and curiosity. Ask questions. Get to know people. Challenge your assumptions. You might be surprised by how wrong you were.

I’ve grown so much since those days, and I’ve never been happier and more content in life.

This is nothing but a quick reflection of my past.. and a gentle reminder to whoever needs it: stop hating people for no reason. Get to know the human behind the surface. The world would be a whole lot better if we all did that.
