Tailored to Me: How I’d Show Up at the Met Gala

The Met Gala is tomorrow and SRK is debuting his first ever Met Gala. How fucking cool! IMHO, he should’ve received an invite years ago. Do I get star-struck? Hell yes. Perhaps that’s why I never ran into a celebrity in New York when I lived there. I’d act like an idiot lol. But tbh, I’d prefer to be amongst the followed and not the follower.

Designed by me—tailored to me in red, plaid, and sparkle. A modern royal moment.

So the Met Gala theme this year is “Tailored to You.” And honestly, I love it. I think fashion is at its most powerful when it’s personal.. when it says something about who you are without you having to say a single word. If I got invited (one day, one day…), this is how I’d show up.

First off, the fit would have to be body-conforming. To me, the most authentic tailoring is the one that follows the shape you already have. I’d want my outfit to hug my figure in a way that feels powerful.. not just “pretty.” Something that says, “this is me.. no holds-barred. No hiding behind fabric, just confidence.

I’d go for deep red because red means love and passion to me. Two things I believe in. It’s a color that makes me feel like the best version of me.

One of the coolest things I’d want to include in the look? Lines of text. Real words that mean something to me. I love to write, and words have always been my thing. I think it’d be such a personal touch to have my own words sewn right into the outfit. Like wearing a piece of my story.

At the end of the day, my look would be all about embracing what makes me feel confident, powerful, and real. The most important part of tailoring isn’t the fabric, it’s how you feel in it. And I’d want to feel like me.
